Reflections upon Graduation: DI is the Duct Tape that Bonds People for Life.

DI is special. It is more than simply a competition. DI allows all of us to learn of our potential, find our talents, and exhibit the both of them. DI has not only instilled in us the ability to think critically and originally, but most importantly, it has given us a genuine family. I’m proud to say that our team has stayed in tact since we began in third grade. Like all DI teams, we’ve had our disagreements, but we always come away from them better friends than ever. DI is the duct tape that bonds people for life.

There are a few easy ways to recognize a DI graduate.
• You know you’re a DI graduate when any play longer than eight minutes seems like it goes on forever.

• You know you’re a DI graduate when you know how to build bridges and towers entirely out of toothpicks, paperclips, and a couple mailing labels.

• You know you’re a DI graduate when you assume that if the letters D and I are paired together they should always be capitalized.

• You know you’re a DI graduate when the adults wear goofier hats than the children.

• You know you’re a DI graduate if you go through duct tape faster than you do toilet paper.

Even though we are graduating and our teams may be separating, we will always have the memories of DI and the time we all spent together. Good luck to all OHDI graduates, now and for the rest of your lives.
