A Message from the Tournament Director

Good Morning! Thank you so much for the extra patience we have asked all of you to display this year. If this is your first time as a state competitor, you probably do not appreciate all the differences between the old system for registering for the OHDI competition and the method we’ve been piloting this year. While the change has vastly improved the process in many areas, there are some areas that have presented challenges we never anticipated.

All of these changes, of course, have given us an opportunity to utilize the problem solving skills that we so admire in our students, and I want to commend all of you for being so patient, understanding, cooperative, and pleasant as we work to make this year’s tournament a positive experience for the people that matter most—our kids!

So here it is—tournament week! Posted below are the tournament schedules and maps. The Challenge Masters have included the time they want their appraisers to arrive. If you have an appraiser who has not been contacted by a Head Appraiser, use the chart published below to determine where and when he/she is expected to arrive.

Volunteer Coordinator, Sally Murphy , can be contacted with any volunteer questions you may have. As a rule of thumb, your volunteer should check in at the volunteer registration table 90 minutes before you perform (7:30 AM for all teams performing near the eight o’clock hour).

Thanks again and good luck from all of us at OKC!
