Announcing New Times for Friday’s Site Visitation

THE HOURS FOR SITE VISITATION HAVE CHANGED THIS YEAR! Due to the location of the Pre-Tournament meeting that all Challenge Masters and Governing Board Members must attend, the sites at both the HS and MS will be locked at 7:15 PM.

If you are planning to take advantage of the opportunity to visit Mount Vernon on Friday night, read this entire article. This is especially important for those competing in the Middle School (projectOutreach and Challenge A) because there is a concert scheduled in part of the MS building on Friday night.

Although everything you will learn on Friday could be learned by arriving early on Saturday, some teams enjoy the opportunity to visit the night before. We are confident that our teams will demonstrate their sportsmanship and consideration by following these simple guidelines:

1. Teams may visit the schools on Friday evening beginning at 6:30 PM. PLEASE, DO NOT ENTER THE BUILDINGS BEFORE 6:30 PM!
2. Find your site; check out entrance areas, the position of the steps leading to your performance area (especially Secondary Levels for Challenges B and C), the location of registration areas, audience/supporter sites, electrical outlets, and so much more.
3. Be quiet, polite, and considerate of the duties the Tournament Officials are performing. Please remember that we are under strict restraints for the amount of time we have to set up sites this year and will not be able to enter into “discussions” with Team Managers or members.
4. Please follow all instructions given to you by Tournament Officials.
5. Exit all building sites by 7:15.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR VISITING THE MIDDLE SCHOOL:
Help us show our hosts the respect they deserve! There is a concert scheduled in the Commons Area of the Middle School on Friday, April 16th. Please do not enter that area of the building. Instead, download the map (which will be available nearer the competition) and follow the signs posted on the doors of the Middle School. Teams may visit the MS sites for projectOutreach and Challenge A (Instant Challenge is “off limits” on Friday night, as usual). Please help us prove we are considerate visitors—do not enter the Commons Area of the MS on Friday night. Thank you in advance for making this year’s OHDI Tournament a wonderful experience for everyone involved.
