OKC Governing Board State Shirt Procedure

Team Managers,

We, on the OKC Governing Board, would like to clarify the role of our organization. Primarily, we exist to provide a State Championship Tournament for those teams who are eligible to advance from the regional level. As such, we do everything possible to make our tournament a positive experience for all the teams that attend—not just the ones that win.

A Message from the Tournament Director

Good Morning! Thank you so much for the extra patience we have asked all of you to display this year. If this is your first time as a state competitor, you probably do not appreciate all the differences between the old system for registering for the OHDI competition and the method we’ve been piloting this year. While the change has vastly improved the process in many areas, there are some areas that have presented challenges we never anticipated.

Global Finals Offers 1 Day Pass

A message from the Creative Director of DI, Rusty McCarty:

For Global Finals 2010 we will be offering a Single-Day Pass for each of the competition days (Thursday, Friday or Saturday). This Single-Day Pass is $20 per day and must be purchased on-site at the TRECS Registration office. The Single-Day Pass will only be issued to persons that can be matched with a team that is participating in Global Finals.

Announcing New Times for Friday’s Site Visitation

THE HOURS FOR SITE VISITATION HAVE CHANGED THIS YEAR! Due to the location of the Pre-Tournament meeting that all Challenge Masters and Governing Board Members must attend, the sites at both the HS and MS will be locked at 7:15 PM.

If you are planning to take advantage of the opportunity to visit Mount Vernon on Friday night, read this entire article. This is especially important for those competing in the Middle School (projectOutreach and Challenge A) because there is a concert scheduled in part of the MS building on Friday night.

Obesity press release

Good morning everyone,

Yesterday I published a press releases where we officially made public our participation with the Fuel Up To Play 60 program as a supporter, and how DI is committed to tackling childhood obesity. This release is in response to Chuck attending the FUTP60 sponsored press event in DC on the 16th and the upcoming ad in Newsweek where we are recognized among all of the supporters and sponsors.
